Dr. Yvette Santiago-Gatmaitan is an oculoplastic surgeon who is devoted to providing specialized treatment of diseases of the orbit (eye socket), including thyroid eye disease, orbital inflammation, orbital infections, tumors, fractures, etc.

Dr Santiago-Gatmaitan graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science Industrial Pharmacy at the University of the Philippines Manila. She pursued a medical degree at St. Luke’s College of Medicine-William H. Quasha Memorial followed by a residency in Ophthalmology at the St. Luke’s Medical Center. Continuing her pursuit of excellence, she acquired her United States Medical License-ECFMG Certificate and completed a clinical fellowship in Orbit and Ophthalmic Surgery at the prestigious Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School in Boston.

A board-certified Ophthalmologist and fellow of the Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology and Philippine Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (PSOPRS), Dr. Santiago-Gatmaitan has taken on leadership roles in the field. She currently serves as the president of PSOPRS (2023-2024) and holds the position of secretary for the Asia Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery (2023-2024). Moreover, she is a founding member of the World Society of Ophthalmic Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery.

Her extensive contributions to the field are evident in her authorship of several international orbit textbook chapters and Ophthalmic journal articles. Furthermore, she is a senior editor and former editor-in-chief of eFocalPoint, the Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology’s online newsletter. Dr. Santiago-Gatmaitan is also an Assistant Professor at the Department of Ophthalmology of the St. Luke’s Medical Center College of Medicine-WHQM. With her passion for advancing ophthalmic knowledge and patient care, Dr. Santiago-Gatmaitan continues to make a significant impact in her field.
