Alongside the scientific programme, the Sheffield team is offering a range of social events designed to provide opportunities to relax and reconnect with your colleagues. Our local team will be on hand to host you. These activities are an important part of the BOPSS conference experience, and we look forward to welcoming you.

Wednesday 17th June 6 pm – 7.30 pm:
Welcome drinks reception at the Winter Garden (free). A couple of minutes’ walk from the City Hall
Thursday 18th June:
BOPSS dinner and disco. Come along to our dinner and disco at the Cutler’s Hall an iconic Sheffield venue that showcases the city’s rich heritage in craftsmanship and design. It’s a great chance to relax, catch up with colleagues, and enjoy the night together—and we’ve made sure it’s affordable for everyone. Join Zanna Currie for a 5K run through the beautiful surroundings of Endcliffe Park—a well-loved green space in Sheffield known for its scenic riverside paths, woodland trails, and gentle terrain.

7.15am-8.15am: Swim at Ponds forge – book online only directly with Ponds Forge (£6.40 per swim)
Join Jennifer Tan and start your day with an energising morning swim at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre. Swimming is well recognised for its positive effect on mental clarity—an ideal way to prepare for a full day of BOPSS!
