Abstract submission 2026

Abstract submission can be done on-line only until noon 20 March 2026.

The 2026 meeting will be accepting oral presentations, videos & e-posters. You must be logged in to the site to submit an abstract. You can use the same account as used in previous years. The submitting author is the first (main) author and is responsible for the content and accuracy of the abstract, and for registering for and attending the meeting in person. We assume you have permission of all authors to submit the work on their behalf. You are allowed two abstract submissions as first (main) author.

Note: Abstract submission and edits can be done until noon. There is no extension to this deadline in any circumstances. 

The 2026 meeting will be accepting oral presentations, videos, and e-posters. We will make the full tsubmission here. echnical details for each category available soon. Before submitting, please refer to and read the BOPSS rules on abstract submission here. BOPSS will NOT enter correspondence about acceptance or not of your abstracts. Submissions of novel research in the fields of orbit, lacrimal and oculoplastic surgery are invited and are more likely to be successful. Please make sure your abstract is of original contemporary work that has not already been published, written in good English and grammatically correct.


BOPSS Rules

Please take a few moments of your time to read the information below before submitting your abstract. Failure to adhere to the rules will result in your abstract being withdrawn.

The submitting author is the first (main) author and is responsible for the abstract and presenting the work. Do NOT submit an abstract on someone else’s behalf. They must create an account on the website and submit their own abstract. The submitting author is limited to two abstract submissions. It is not possible to submit abstracts by e-mail or postal mail.

After the deadline we do not allow changes in any circumstances to: 

  1. Authors (including but not limited to): Adding, deleting, changing the order 
  2. Titles (including but not limited to): Adding, deleting or changing the title in any way 
  3. Content (including but not limited to): Adding words, deleting words, changing the content in any way 

If accepted, the published (e-poster) or presented (free paper) work must match what was submitted on the abstract (including authors, title, and content). Modified or changed work will be removed from the programme and / or listing 

The submitting author is responsible for the abstract and must register for the meeting, pay the appropriate fee, and attend in person if the abstract is accepted as a free paper, e-poster, or video. Failure to register and/or attend will result in the abstract being removed from the meeting programme, schedules, and meeting app

In addition, submitters who fail to comply may be blacklisted and prevented from submitting abstracts in the future. 

If an author is refunded (for any reason whatsoever) then all abstract listings, e-posters, certificates and materials relating to the submissions will be removed from the meeting programme and app. BOPSS does not allow recordings, substitute or secondary authors to present the work. 


Completing the submission form and required information:

Submitting an abstract is easy. All fields are required, and you will be asked these following questions. If you are unable to comply or know you will not be attending the meeting, please do NOT submit an abstract. 

  1. Format (oral, e-poster, either oral or e-poster or surgical video of no more than 5 minutes duration)
  2. Abstract Title
  3. Purpose, Methods, Results, and Conclusion
  4. Submitting/first (main) author’s first name then surname
  5. Submitting/first (main) author’s current grade (e.g. trainee, consultant, SAS, fellow)
  6. Submitting/first (main) author’s current base hospital / institution
  7. Valid email address
  8. Names of contributing authors (up to 5 following the format: first name then surname and do not include institutions)
  9. Principal unit where the research work was undertaken (not where you are working now)
  10. Consent obtained from patient (be prepared to provide evidence if required)
  11. I declare I am the main (first) author of the work
  12. I declare I have permission to submit this work on behalf of the other authors
  13. I understand that I must register and pay the appropriate fee by the deadlines advised to me for my work to be included in the meeting programme, app
  14. I understand that I must submit my audiovisual materials by the deadlines advised to me for my work to be included the meeting programme, app
  15. I understand that I must attend the meeting in person for my work to be included in the meeting programme and app. If I do not attend, these will be updated accordingly, and my work will be removed from the programme
  16. I have read, understand and agree to abide by the rules
  17. I understand that BOPSS decision is final

Although the number of characters allowed in an abstract is limited (1800), you can always see how many free characters are left.

As soon as your abstract is submitted, you will receive an automatic e-mail confirmation. If you are logged in on the website, you can always edit your submission until the deadline
