The 2026 meeting will accept oral presentations, surgical videos and e-posters. Full technical guidance for each category will be released shortly.
Before submitting, please ensure you have read the BOPSS submission rules. Please note that BOPSS will not enter into correspondence regarding the acceptance or rejection of abstracts. All abstracts are reviewed anonymously by BRAAC, and reviewers do not have access to the identity of the authors.
We invite submissions presenting novel research in the fields of orbit, lacrimal and oculoplastic surgery, as these are more likely to be selected. Please ensure your abstract contains original, contemporary work that has not been previously published, and that it is written in clear, grammatically correct English.
Rules
Please read the following carefully before submitting your abstract. Failure to adhere to these rules will result in your abstract being withdrawn (and BOPSS decision is final)
Submitting Author Responsibility
- The submitting author must be the first named (main) author and is responsible for both the submission and presentation (in person) of the work
- The submitting/first (main) author must create their own account on the website and submit the abstract personally
- Do not submit on behalf of another author — such submissions will be automatically rejected
Submission limit
- Each submitting author may submit a maximum of two abstracts
Submission method
- Abstracts must be submitted via the BOPSS website before the stated deadline
- Submissions by email or post or after the stated deadline will not be accepted under any circumstances
No post-deadline changes. After the submission deadline, no changes will be permitted to:
- Authors (including adding, removing, or reordering names)
- Abstract titles including but not limited to: adding, deleting or changing the title in any way
- Content including but not limited to: adding words, deleting words, changing the content in any way
Consistency between abstract and presentation
- If accepted, your presentation (e-poster, oral, or video) must exactly match the submitted abstract in terms of title, authors, and content (updated results are permitted)
- Any materially altered work will be removed from the programme and/or listing
Author meeting attendance requirements
- The submitting/first (main) author is required to register for, pay the appropriate fee AND attend the meeting in person
- Substitute presenters or co-authors will not be permitted under any circumstances. The work will be removed from the programme
- Pre-recorded presentations are not accepted in any circumstances. If you are unable to attend in person the work will be removed from the programme
- The submitting/first (main) author must meet all deadlines as communicated by the conference executive
- Failure to register, pay the appropriate fee, provide materials by the stated deadlines, and/or NOT attend in person will result in removal of the abstract and any audiovisual materials from the programme, online meeting schedule and abstract listings, and app. BOPSS decision is final
- Non-compliance may result in blacklisting from future meetings
Completing the submission form and required information:
Submitting an abstract is straightforward. All fields are mandatory, and you will be asked to provide the information outlined below. If you are unable to meet the requirements or already know that you will not be attending the meeting, please do not submit an abstract.
- Format (oral, e-poster, either oral or e-poster or surgical video of no more than 5 minutes duration)
- Abstract Title
- Purpose, Methods, Results, and Conclusion
- Submitting/first (main) author’s first name then surname
- Submitting/first (main) author’s current grade (e.g. trainee, consultant, SAS, fellow)
- Submitting/first (main) author’s current base hospital / institution
- Valid email address
- Names of contributing authors (up to 5 following the format: first name then surname and do not include institutions)
- Principal unit where the research work was undertaken (not where you are working now)
- Consent obtained from patient (be prepared to provide evidence if required)
- I declare I am the main (first) author of the work
- I declare I have permission to submit this work on behalf of the other authors
- I understand that I must register and pay the appropriate fee by the deadlines advised to me for my work to be included in the meeting programme, app
- I understand that I must submit my audiovisual materials by the deadlines advised to me for my work to be included the meeting programme, app
- I understand that I must attend the meeting in person for my work to be included in the meeting programme and app. If I do not attend, these will be updated accordingly, and my work will be removed from the programme
- I have read, understand and agree to abide by the rules
- I understand that BOPSS decision is final

Although the number of characters allowed in an abstract is limited (1800), you can always see how many free characters are left.
As soon as your abstract is submitted, you will receive an automatic e-mail confirmation. If you are logged in on the website, you can edit your submission until the deadline.
