Don O Kikkawa is Distinguished Professor and The Trude Kahn Hollander Endowed Chair of Ophthalmology at UC San Diego in La Jolla, California. He is also Division Chief of Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Distinguished Professor of Plastic Surgery at UC San Diego. Dr. Kikkawa is currently the Program Director of the UC San Diego ASOPRS Oculofacial Plastic Surgery Fellowship. He is a frequent lecturer nationally and internationally and has received numerous teaching awards.
Dr. Kikkawa has been an active leader in many organizations. He is a current member of the Ophthalmology RRC for the ACGME, former President of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, former Director for the American Board of Ophthalmology and former Trustee of the ASOPRS Foundation. He has authored or co-authored over 200 publications, 50 book chapters, and five books. He currently serves on the Editorial Boards of Ophthalmology, Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and is an Associate Editor of Translational Vision Science and Technology. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, and is a Life Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
