Survey of consent form completion practice amongst UK Oculoplastic Surgeons

Dear BOPSS colleagues, we’d really appreciate your help with a survey exploring how UK oculoplastic surgeons complete consent forms in everyday practice. We want to understand how members describe planned operations and how different clinic setups influence what is recorded. Our aim is to publish a clearer picture of current professional practice, helping inform fair expectations of consent documentation and providing evidence relevant to a Bolam assessment when surgeons face medicolegal criticism about the detail recorded. We’re interested in what you actually do day to day. Please also encourage colleagues at all levels of seniority who are involved in consent for oculoplastic surgery to participate—the broader the range of experience and settings represented, the more useful the findings will be.
