Welcome Reception
The Royal Society of Medicine, 1 Wimpole Street, W1G 0AE
Wednesday 21st June 2017
This year’s BOPSS meeting will take place at 1 Wimpole Street home to the Royal Society of Medicine. Steeped in history, 1 Wimpole Street was built in 1909 as larger premises for the Royal Society of Medicine to the designs of the Edwardian Baroque architect, John Belcher, and was finally completed in June 1912. It was officially opened the same year by King George V and Queen Mary. Upon opening 1 Wimpole Street was immediately placed at the forefront of modern day medicine. Preserving the grandeur of old whilst embracing modern technology, 1 Wimpole Street has established itself as one of the leading conference venues in central London.
The Welcome Reception is open to all delegates and guests and will take place in Atrium at the RSM on Wednesday evening from 17.30 pm. We’re delighted that the Panic Community Steel Band from Cambridge will be providing background music on steel pans. You can download a sample of the music to see what they sound like! or visit the website panicsteelband.co.uk for more information.
