This year’s BOPSS meeting will take place at St George’s Hall located in the St George’s quarter of Liverpool. It is a spectacular Grade 1 listed building and is widely regarded as one of the finest neo-classical buildings in the world. Built in the early 1800s as a space for music festivals, and the Civil and Crown courts, the hall has always been at the heart of community life in Liverpool. It was built as a result of separate competitions to create a fitting space for the aspirational city to hold its music festivals and other assemblies and contains the vastly ornate Great Hall with its vaulted ceiling, Minton tiled floor, replete with maritime and civic symbolism and is also home to a massive pipe organ.
The Welcome Reception will take place in the Great Hall on Wednesday evening. We’re also offering delegates a unique opportunity to have a guided tour of the building. We will be organising two tours that last approximate 30 mins (one at 6.30 pm & one at 7.00 pm) during the reception. As places are limited these will be offered a first come first served basis. If you would like to put your name down for one of the tours please email with your preferred time to: email@example.com
The Gala Dinner on Thursday 12th June will be held in Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral, which is the largest cathedral in the United Kingdom and fifth largest in the world. It was only completed in 1978. There will be a drinks reception in the beautiful Lady Chapel, the oldest part of the cathedral followed by dinner in the main body of the building. The Cathedral is a 20-minutes walk or 5-minutes taxi ride from St George’s Hall.
Tickets can be purchased here. You need to be logged in and have a meeting ticket to be able to purchase Gala Dinner tickets. If you wish to purchase tickets without having a meeting ticket please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
