BOPSS Members now get forum updates by email

To increase the communication between members on the forum, each subscribed member now gets an email when new posts are added to the “All Case Discussions” forum. You can turn off the email notification from the forum. Click on the “All Case Discussions” to enter the specific forum If you are “Subscribed” to get email notification it will have a yellow box to allow you to “Unsubscribe” if you wish. International Visiting Fellows Award

The BOPSS committee would like to announce the introduction of the International Visiting Fellows Awards. This offers oculoplastic surgeons, who are working abroad, financial support to visit the UK for a short observership under the patronage of a full BOPSS member. For its inaugural year, 2017, Members are invited to propose a visitor for the award; the total value of the which is £2000. It is expected that the proposer/s will arrange the necessary  visas and accommodation. More info [...]

GMC Guidance on Cosmetic Surgery

The GMC has issued its guidance on Cosmetic Surgery (attached). BOPSS and RCOphth have been closely involved in the process to date. Update on RCS Cosmetic Inter-specialty Committee (CISC)

One of the recommendations in the Government response to Review of the Regulation of Cosmetic Interventions chaired by Sir Bruce Keogh was that Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) should establish a Cosmetic Inter-specialty Committee (CISC) to improve regulation in the sector to ensure high quality care and an informed and empowered public.
