Alex Barnacle is a paediatric interventional radiologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London. Originally from Zimbabwe, she trained in the UK and Australia and has been at GOSH since 2003. The treatment of vascular anomalies is one of her main clinical interests. She is a Past President of the Society for Pediatric Interventional Radiology (SPIR) and sits on the Executive Committees of the British and European IR societies. She founded Paediatric IR UK, an annual multidisciplinary meeting for the sharing of paediatric IR knowledge and skills. She is passionate about the promotion and development of IR for children in all parts of the world.
