Vickie Lee is a Consultant Ophthalmic and Oculoplastic Surgeon at Imperial College (Western Eye Hospital) and London North West Healthcare NHS Trusts Her specialist interests include endonasal lacrimal surgery and the multi-disciplinary management of thyroid eye disease and complex orbitofacial trauma.

She graduated from Cambridge University and St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School and underwent her basic ophthalmic surgical training at the Western Eye Hospital, her higher surgical training in London and her fellowship in Oculoplastics at Moorfields Eye Hospital before taking up her consultant post in 2003.

Colin Dayan trained in medicine at University College, Oxford, and Guy’s and Charing Cross Hospitals in London, UK before obtaining a PhD in the immunology of Graves’ Disease in Laboratory of Marc Feldmann. He then spent a year as an endocrine fellow at the Massachussetts General Hospital in Boston, USA before completing his specialist training in diabetes and endocrinology as a Lecturer in Bristol. He became a consultant senior lecturer in medicine (diabetes/endocrinology) at the University of Bristol in 1995 and Head of Clinical Research at the Henry Wellcome Laboratories for Integrative Neuroscience and Endocrinology in Bristol in 2002. In 2010, he was appointed to the Chair of Clinical Diabetes and Metabolism and Head of Section at Cardiff University School of Medicine. He served as Director of the Institute of Molecular and Experimental Medicine in 2011 – 2015.

He has research interests in thyroid disease which include thyroid autoimmunity, thyroid hormone replacement and bioavailability, genetic epidemiology as applied to population variation in thyroid hormone bioavailability and thyroid eye disease. He became secretary of the European Thyroid Association in 2013 and chairs the UK Thyroid Eye Disease Amsterdam Implementation Group.

Professor Stephen Robinson, Consultant Endocrinologist, Imperial College London

Miss Rachna Murthy is a Consultant ophthalmologist, oculoplastic and peri-ocular reconstructive Surgeon at Cambridge University and Ipswich Hospitals, UK.  She has specialist interests in Thyroid Eye Disease, peri-ocular skin cancer management, and peri-ocular aesthetic surgical and non-surgical treatments. Following her specialist training in ophthalmology in the UK, she undertook 3 years of fellowship training in thyroid eye disease, orbital and peri-ocular surgery at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, The Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital, Melbourne, Australia, Moorfield’s Eye Hospital, London and The Craniofacial Unit of Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, London.

She is an invited speaker for the British Thyroid Foundation (BTF) and is faculty for several oculoplastic and orbital courses.

Her research includes the characterisation of triggers and drives for thyroid eye disease and improving the clinical activity and severity assessment of patients with thyroid eye disease. She is also involved in active research in the fields of oculoplastic surgery, tumour management and peri-ocular aesthetics.
Lastly, she leads the regional specialist thyroid eye disease service at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge.

Priya Bhatt, Bolton

Jane Olver is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Oculoplastic Surgeon at the Western Eye and Charing Cross Hospitals, London (Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust). She also practices privately and founded Clinica London, www.clinicalondon.co.uk). She specializes in Oculoplastic and Endo-Lacrimal Surgery, and also carries out Aesthetic Rejuvenation surgery and treatments.

Jane graduated from St Thomas Hospital Medical School in 1979 and completed her Ophthalmology and Oculoplastic training at Moorfields Eye Hospital in 1994 where she had done two Fellowships, in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and in Adnexal surgery.

In 2000 Jane co-founded the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society (BOPSS) and became its inaugural secretary. She contributed to writing the BOPSS constitution and helped organize several of the initial BOPSS annual meetings. Her greatest achievement for BOPSS was co-ordinating the 2006 Joint meeting of European Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ESOPRS) and BOPSS in London.

Jane has written two Ophthalmic books,; Colour Atlas of Lacrimal Surgery and Ophthalmology at a Glance which is now entering its second edition. She has published over 60 peer-reviewed papers and enjoys lecturing both Nationally and Internationally. She enjoys teaching and training Fellows and Residents.

In 2012 she has been invited to talk at Fusion 2012 in Hyderabad and at the World Ophthalmology Congress WOC in Abu Dhabi on lacrimal, oculoplastic and aesthetic topics, and most recently in April at the 2012 Asio Pacific Association of Ophthalmology (APAO) Meeting in Korea (South) on Endo-Lacrimal surgery.
This year she was part of the team that has been awarded by the Royal College of Ophthalmology the Treacher Collins Prize for a DVD on Viscoelastic with Fluorescein for filling and identifying the lacrimal sac in endo-mlacrimal dacryocystorhinostomy.

Dr. A. K. Grover, a recipient of Padma Shree award by the President of India, is Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and Vision Eye Centres, New Delhi, India.

Dr. Grover is President of the collegium of All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS) and Chairman, subspecialty education committee, International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO).

He is a past President of Asia Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (APSOPRS), All India Ophthalmological Society and Oculoplastics Association of India.  He has been awarded honorary Fellowship of Royal College (Glasgow), International Council of Ophthalmology (FICO) and International Medical Science Academy (FIMSA).  He has also received the distinguished service award from the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Grover has edited 4 books, authored over 50 publications, 70 chapters and made over 1000 scientific presentations, nationally and internationally.  He has won prestigious awards and orations, chaired sessions or conducted courses and live surgeries formany Ophthalmic societies in the country and the world including the World Congress, American Academy of Ophthalmology, Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology, APSOPRS and Afro Asian Congress.

Dr Reynaldo M Javate is an acknowledged researcher and inventor. He is currently Chairman of the USTH Eye Institute, University of Santo Tomas Hospital, Manila Philippines, Chief Lacrimal, Orbital and Oculofacial Plastic Surgeon and a Professor in the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Santo Tomas

Dr. Douglas is a Professor of oculoplastic and orbital surgery to Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angles and the University of Michigan. Currently he is the director of the Orbital and Thyroid Eye Disease Center at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Douglas also has a private practice in Beverly Hills, CA and Shanghai China. His specialties include orbital surgery for thyroid-associated eye disease; cosmetic facial surgery; and post-cancer reconstruction surgery.

Dr. Douglas’ research focus includes Graves’ eye disease; autoimmune diseases of the orbit; and the development of effective treatment for these conditions, including clinical studies and laboratory investigations, and minimally invasive approaches to the orbit.

Daniel Morris, Cardiff

Henry Smith, aka ‘Barney’, studied Earth Sciences at Hertford College, Oxford, and ran the Oxford University Wine Circle. After graduating he chose wine over geology, joining the firm Lay & Wheeler and gaining the Wine & Spirit Education Trust Diploma. After noticing that most of his best clients were doctors, and for the sake of his liver, he decided to retrain in medicine, qualifying in 2001 (Guy’s & St. Thomas’). Throughout medical school he pursued his twin passions of wine and politics, working at Lay & Wheeler at the weekends and as a parliamentary researcher in the evenings, his last two years as an aide to Ann Widdecombe MP.

After house jobs in London, he was an SHO on the Oxford rotation and an SpR at Moorfields, followed by oculoplastics fellowships at Maidstone, Moorfields and Glasgow. Always a lover of Scotland he was appointed as a consultant at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary in February 2014, where he is the oculoplastic service lead. In addition to his clinical practice he is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Aberdeen University School of Medicine, where he is the ophthalmology teaching co-ordinator.

Miss Claire Daniel, London

Dr. Vivian T. Yin is a leading surgeon, researcher and teacher in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. In 2014, she returned to Vancouver to join the University of British Columbia as clinical assistant professor in the Division of Oculoplastics and Orbit. She has a special interest in the treatment of periocular and orbital cancer, especially the use of targeted therapy.

After completing undergraduate studies at the Johns Hopkins University, graduating with honors, Dr. Yin pursued her medical degree and ophthalmology residency at the University of Toronto. She was recognized for her exceptional surgical skills by the University with the Dr. Sigmund Vaile and Kensington Eye Institute awards. She further refined her surgical skills by pursuing a prestigious 2-year fellowship training at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She speaks internationally on topics of oncology, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Yin generously volunteers her spare time to work towards eliminate preventable blindness. She has traveled to Bangladesh, the Philippines, and India to teach and provide free surgical care for those in need. She has worked extensively with organizations such as ORBIS, the flying eye hospital, the Urban Angels, and So Kids Can See. She had completed a Master degree in Public Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health to expand her work in global ophthalmology in 2014 and is currently on the board of director for SEVA Canada.

Prof Mandeep S. Sagoo
Moorfields Eye Hospital / UCL Institute of Ophthalmology

Mr Mandeep Sagoo is Senior Lecturer at UCL Institute of Ophthalmology and a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon specialising in adult and paediatric eye tumours at Moorfields Eye Hospital, St. Bartholomew’s Hospital and the Royal London Hospital, London UK.

Having graduated from Cambridge University, he undertook residency in Ophthalmology at Oxford and then Moorfields Eye Hospital. His Fellowship training was in Ocular Oncology, as a Fulbright Scholar, under Dr Jerry Shields and Dr Carol Shields at Wills Eye Hospital and Medical Retina Fellowship at Moorfields. He holds over 20 academic awards and prizes, including the Gedge Prize of Cambridge University, John Glyn Young Fellows Prize of Royal Society of Medicine, the Syme Medal of Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and PJ Hay Medal of the North of England Ophthalmological Society. He has written 5 book chapters and over 80 academic papers. He is a Member of Macula Society, Council Member of Oxford Ophthalmological Congress and has served as Honorary Secretary of the International Society of Ocular Oncology. This year he is the King James IV Professor of Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, UK

Mr Naresh Joshi is Consultant Oculoplastic surgeon at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Trust London and Honorary Consultant to the Royal Marsden. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London.

He is a founder member of the British Ophthalmic Plastic surgical Society (BOPSS), and president of the society. Other memberships : BAAPS , ASOPRS, APSOPRS .

Currently, he represents the Royal College of Ophthalmologists on the BSI (British Standards Institute) and CEN (Communite European Normalization) committees for the regulation of safety in aesthetic procedures. He has an interest in periocular aestheic surgery.

Consultant Ophthalmic and Oculoplastic Surgeon Royal Bournemouth Hospital, UK

Fellowship in orbit and oculoplastic surgery with Jack Rootman and Peter Dolman in Vancouver, Canada. Research in inflammatory lacrimal disease, in vivo suture hydrolysis and ptosis. Practice now almost exclusively subspecialist, especially peri ocular and eyelid reconstruction following Mohs, ptosis and lacrimal. Multidisciplinary management of thyroid orbitopathy with joint thyroid clinic.

Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer, University College London

Trained in ophthalmology in UK, Mr Verity undertook two Fellowships in ophthalmic adnexal disease before joining the Consultant staff at Moorfields Eye Hospital in 2004.

He is a Full Member of the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society (current Treasurer), Treasurer Elect for the European Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and Full Member of the International Society of Ocular Oncology.

In 2009, he was elected to the Orbital Society, in 2010 became Editor-in Chief of the journal ORBIT, and in 2016 became Oculoplastic Section Editor for the Journal of Ophthalmic and Vision Research.

His medical publications in peer-reviewed journals and books include 90(+) publications, and with a wide range of research interests, he is an active national and international teacher and surgical trainer.

Mr Verity also has a life-long interest in the charitable work of the St John Eye Hospital Group. In 2014 he was invested in the Order of St John, and in 2016 joins the Board as Trustee of the Hospital Group.
