Wendy Lee

Wendy W. Lee, MD, MS, is Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology and Dermatology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She serves as director of the Bascom Palmer Aesthetic Center and co-director of the university’s Cosmetic Medicine Group, a multidisciplinary group comprised of the ophthalmology, dermatology, ENT, and plastic surgery departments.

Dr. Lee earned her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and a Master of Science degree in physiology from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. She completed both her residency and internship at Tulane, and a fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.

Dr. Lee conducts research at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute with special interests in eyelid reconstruction, the aging eyelid skin, and aesthetic lasers. She also lectures around the world on oculoplastic disorders and aesthetic treatments related to the eye. She’s been published extensively, both in peer-reviewed journals and in teaching text books. She also serves as chief medical editor for FacialAestheticsCE and as a section editor for Ocular Surgery News.

Dr. Lee serves as a key opinion leader for many aesthetic and functional companies. She has received the Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology, The Henry Baylis Award for Excellence in Cosmetic Surgery from the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Professor of the Year Award from the residents at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Outstanding Alumnus from the Tulane University Department of Ophthalmology and was featured on CNN for her charitable work on patients from developing countries, among other honors.
