Miss Carole Jones

Carole trained in ophthalmology initially in the UK and later in South Africa where she developed an interest in oculoplastic surgery. She completed a Fellowship with Richard Collin in Moorfields and then took up a consultant post at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. She has contributed chapters on socket reconstruction and lid surgery, and published on a range of oculoplastic topics. A recipient of an NHS Innovation award for ptosis assessment spectacles she has also designed an instrument, the Maidstone Hook, for John Weiss.

Carole has an active interest in training and has served as Chairman of Training for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and is the immediate Past-President of the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society. She has lectured both in the UK and abroad, most recently a course of Zoom lectures, Oculoplastic Perspectives, for Zambian ophthalmologists.
