Refunds

Cancellation and refund policy

BOPSS understands that circumstances can change. Our refund policy is designed to be fair while ensuring the sustainability of the event and Society.

Membership Payments

  • Membership may be cancelled at any time by providing written notice to secretary@bopss.co.uk
  • Members have the right to cancel within seven days of their first subscription payment and receive a full refund (membership will be then voided)
  • After the seven-day cooling-off period, no refunds will be issued for the remainder of the subscription term, although membership benefits will remain available until the end of the paid period
  • Any refunds due will be processed promptly to the original payment method

Meeting registration fee refunds

The Society will offer refunds on the following basis

  • Non-attendance: no refund will be issued for delegates who do not attend and have not informed us in writing
  • Full refund: The Society will offer a 100% refund if you cancel before 01st May
  • Partial refund: 50% refund if you cancel before 31st May
  • No refund after 1st June

Dinner & Social Events

  • Dinner bookings are non-refundable unless we can resell your place

Substitutions

  • Delegate substitutions are not allowed. Transfer of dinner tickets is allowed. Please email us.

Exceptional Circumstances

  • We cannot refund at short notice based on war, hostilities, transport strikes or communicable diseases (such as Covid)
  • Refunds outside the above terms may be considered on a case-by-case basis for personal reasons such as serious illness or bereavement (GP letter or medical note). Please send in a written request with supporting evidence (GP letter for example)
