Saj Ataullah’s term of office as BOPSS President comes to an end after the next BOPSS AGM on June 17th 2027. In line with the articles of BOPSS, the process for the determination of the President Elect should begin at the AGM at the end of a President’s first year of office.
The role of President is to provide strategy, vision and leadership for the Society and ensure that the Society remains focused on its aims.
Process
The timetable is as follows:
The nominations open at 12:00 PM on Wednesday 01st July 2026 and close at 12 noon on 29th July 2026 (four weeks).
Voting opens at 12:00 PM on Monday 03rd August 2026 and closes at 12 noon on Monday 24th August 2026 (three weeks).
The successful candidate will be announced during the week beginning 31st August 2026 after the voting has been verified and will take up their post on the Executive Committee from 01st September 2026.
All notifications will be sent out to members via email. Full members can access the voting platform via their member dashboard and the voting will be open for three weeks. Please ensure that you have email notifications enabled.
Eligibility criteria:
- Minimum of four years as a Full Member of the Society
- Recent experience of either a committee member, MAC or BRAAC member or BOPSS meeting host

Nomination rules:
All nominees should include:
- the names of 2 sponsors (who must be fully paid up BOPSS members)
- a photo
- a short statement (to outline your experience and suitability for the post and be no more than 150 words)
Failure to provide any of the above will invalidate the nomination
