Ptosis surgery is one of the most commonly performed operations, but at present there is no consensus on standard pre-operative assessment for patients with ptosis.
There are many different causes of ptosis and many different measurements and tests that can be performed, both to determine the aetiology and help with pre-operative planning. Through this survey, we aim to investigate which measurements/tests are most commonly performed by oculoplastic specialists when assessing patients with ptosis. This could then be used to help standardise the care we offer patients, as well as providing a basis for a potential minimum dataset for electronic records.
