IMPORTANT INFORMATION – please take the time to read this
- Deadline for receipt of your e-poster is midnight 31st May 2024
- No changes accepted after 31st May 2024
- To upload your files you login to your BOPSS account via the website
- You need a ticket for the scientific meeting to upload your e-poster files
- You cannot change authors or title or add your e-poster to someone else’s account
- You may upload edited versions up until the deadline. Ensure you first DELETE your current files and then upload the new ones
- Failure to upload by the deadline will result in removal of your e-poster from the programme
- NAMING your FILES – Name both the PowerPoint file AND the pdf file with the same file name. Use the following format only (BOPSS poster is not particularly helpful): 101-smith.pdf and 101-smith.pptx – this is made up from your assigned schedule number (not the abstract submission number) followed by your surname
- File upload size limit is 40MB
Upload – two files
- ONE slide PowerPoint slide created using a 16:9 ratio (widescreen) NOT 4:3
- ONE pdf copy of your PowerPoint slide
Saving & naming your files – Name both the PowerPoint file AND the pdf file with the same file name using the following format only – your e-poster number (see above) followed by your surname – e.g. 101-smith.pptx and 101-smith.pdf
ePoster uploads is now closed.

Good practice for producing an electronic poster:
- PowerPoint only
- one slide (in landscape orientation)
- widescreen (16:9) ratio
- each section should be brief and to the point
- for case series, studies and audits the sections should broadly follow:
a. introduction, methods, results, discussion, significance / conclusion - for interesting case reports, sections should broadly follow:
a. history, clinical findings, management, result/outcome, conclusion - adopt the motto of Mies van der Rohe: “Less is more”
- no more than 6 bullet points per section
- avoid wrapping the text, use of paragraphs – this isn’t an essay
- avoid all upper case even in titles
- text should contrast with background
- background should be plain – avoid borders etc
- images should be scanned at highest resolution possible
- use charts and graphs (very poster friendly)
- remember to use large text size on legends / labels
- references – in readable text otherwise don’t include
Failure to upload your e-poster files by noon on 31st May will mean that your e-poster will NOT be included on the screens at the meeting, on the website and will be removed from the programme / meeting App. Once you have submitted your e-poster by the deadline it cannot be changed.
If you have any queries or are unsure about any of the guidelines, please ask via conference@bopss.co.uk
We want your e-poster to be of the highest quality.
